Responsibilities
· Remain up to date with trends and techniques including attending courses or workshops
· Achieve customer goals by completing beauty procedures such as haircuts, styling, makeup application, etc.
· Ability to advise and recommend services based on customer needs
· Work with other technicians to maintain a positive work environment
Qualifications
· Experience working in Cosmetology, Must be licensed for 2 years
· Ability to listen and communicate efficiently
· Strong sense of Esthetics, Hair and Nails

My journey to becoming a professional hairstylist has been a dream of mine for years and choosing the right fit of a school was just the beginning of the road. When I first entered Imani Institute of cosmetology, after visiting other local schools. Rhonda gave me a tour of Imani and answered all of my questions making me feel comfortable. After the tour, I knew this was the school for me. The small classes and the chance to have one-on-one training and an extensive 9 weeks of back class training with instructors. This was a real treat, I had to join. On the first day of back class, I was a nervous wreck thinking about the worst possible outcome. Kate M, my instructor for the hair program made our whole class feel supper welcomed and supported. Over the weeks' Kate showed so much passion, love, and drive for this carrier it had all of us giddy and excited to hit the floor running. Kate has been a huge mentor for me here at Imani. When I first thought of starting on this new adventure, like anything else I prepared myself to "shop" around and do my research on each school available in my area and which one would be the best fit. My first call was to Imani and I remember being welcomed on the phone as a potential new student and was placed on a quick hold while the front desk went to get the owner, Ronda. All of my questions were answered and I was invited to come in and take a tour and meet the instructors, I set up that appointment for later that week and was so impressed when I visited the school. How I Got Here, My Esthetics Journey:
Born and raised in the beautiful Rogue Valley. Early on, I developed a passion for skin, the body’s largest organ; and beauty, which comes in many different colors and forms. After graduating from Imani Institute of Cosmetology and becoming a licensed professional; I opened a private studio, in Phoenix Oregon, called Refine Skincare and Sugaring. Currently, I’m certified in dermaplaning, sugaring, as well as a Face Reality Acne Specialist. I offer customized facials, peels, acne treatments, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, Celluma LED light therapy, Esthemax Hydrojelly masks, Esthemax Botox facial, high-frequency treatments as well as sugaring and waxing. I use and carry retail products from several professional skincare companies including GlymedPlus, Face Reality, Hale&Hush, and Tamara’s Sugar.
As a licensed esthetician, I have the training and specialized tools to be able to help alleviate problematic skin issues, such as acne or remove unwanted hair. I also provide soothing skincare and relaxation for the body and mind. The beauty and skincare industry will continually be expanding and evolving. Therefore, the possibilities for advancement feel endless and I truly love my career, as an esthetician!
